Raddington Dig, Somerset. NEW farm, NEW Fields. 100 acres 25th June.

TA4 2QQ This postcode will take you to NUTWELL FARM – carry on past Nutwell farm for half a mile with Nutwell farm on your left , You will see the LGD signs on your left and see base camp. Safe journey see you all in the morning .

Please note: We expect all finds to be shown for photographing, all items considered treasure for the finder to provide identification and a contact number. Whilst it is not our responsibility to report items of treasure found on our digs, we will advise the finder to do so and expect confirmation it has been done. And find of this nature not reported will entail the finders details being passed to the relevant authority.

For those of you who have attended our two previous digs at Raddington, you will be well aware of the ancient Church of St. Michael, on the brow of the hills where we have this permission. Having just acquired a second farm here, we are excited that these fields are considerably flatter and again, close to the church. We are aware that there was a settlement in this area, believed to have been on the first permission but on examination, we feel it more likely we will see a lot more activity on the fields we have for this event. They are near the church, they are far more level, there is a nearby water supply. It also looks far easier to access the church across these fields, which have footpaths, than the climb up from our other permission.

As this is our first visit here, we are limiting the numbers to 100 and if the dig runs smoothly in the eyes of the farmer, we have agreed a camping weekend on the remaining land later in the year.

As you can see from this aerial view, cracking dig conditions and nice looking fields.

Just registered for this and looking forward to my very first letsgodigging event! Coming up from Weymouth, Dorset (not as far as Brussels!)

What happens with paying – is that taken on the day? Would have liked to become full member but I see that is on hold at the moment because the year end is imminent.

Are location details emailed out closer to the time of the event, so I know where to go?

I am coming up to this event from Havant, near Portsmouth, is there anywhere I can park a large motorhome? As I am thinking of arriving local on Saturday so using the MH for transport.

        Thanks ,,,,Joanne,
We’re going to come down early in the car now as the roads look very narrow and I’d hate to cause a road block.

See you next weekend and thanks again.

Unofficial response but question gets asked frequently so will say what the normal response is –

Post code is put on the event page (eg here) the evening prior to the event.
[Think its normally between 6 and 8 o’clock].

Notice you say “when we will receive the post code”, the post code is not sent out, but only put on here.
